Antti Sarela

Project Leader, Care Assessment Platform (CAP)

Antti Sarela has a Masters degree from Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, majoring in Medical Technology and Biophysics. He has worked in the medical device industry for more than 15 years. He currently holds a Project Leader position in CSIRO, Australian e-Health Research Centre. Before joining CSIRO in 2006 he was the Chief Engineer at International Security Technology (IST), a technology start-up firm in Finland. IST develops and manufactures novel security and activity monitoring system (Vivago) for elderly care. In 1993-2000 he worked for Instrumentarium, Datex-Ohmeda division that is today part of GE Healthcare and a leading provider of anaesthesia delivery and critical care monitoring solutions. He designed embedded software for an anaesthesia workstation, and later held several project and large scale Research and Development program management positions. These projects developed new physiological measurements and monitoring devices for anaesthesia and critical care. He holds several patents related to medical devices.
